A Postcard from Istria – in Croatia

I’m on holiday in the resort of Plava Laguna in the beautiful northern province of Istria in Croatia. I’m being hosted by the Istrian Tourist board and I can’t quite believe my luck in being invited here, let alone having such a view from my window.
We arrived late last night from Venice airport and spent the day exploring the resort and visiting the old town of Poreč and the beautiful golden mosaics in the Basilica of Euphrasius. The next couple of days I hope to do some more exploring of this gorgeous coastline and venture inland to do some truffle hunting and seek out some hill towns. That’s if I can prise my children away from the sunlounger by the pool.

Hello Heather,
I’ve been following blogs that feature Croatia for some time now! As a travel blogger, Istria seem to be a dream trip. Many things to write about and sights to see in Croatia, especially in this district. I have many Croatian friends and co-workers here in Canada, and I’ll be sure to pass on your post about the country they miss so much…
