I love the idea of the Queen trotting out, corgis in tow, ready for an ice-cream on a hot day. And wow, an invite to the Queen’s tea party.

@sherry Sadly I didn’t have any ice cream on that occasion but I seem to remember that it was some excellent tubs of quality British Ice Cream. But I can confirm that the cakes at the Buckingham palace tea party were outstanding!

I’ve never toured the palace before but it sounds fabulous…especially if there’s ice cream at the end! Was it any good?

I think if she were Queen of Denmark, she probably would; I believe Queen Margarethe is often in the habit of slipping out for a packet of cigarettes.

But isn’t it much nicer to believe that, every so often, the Queen dons a crazy hat and a pair of sunglasses and sneaks out of the palace to fetch her own ice cream?
