The view of Zante from Bohali Castle – in Zakynthos Greece

If you want to have a coffee with a fantastic view, drive up to Bohali in Zakynthos, one of our favourite spots to relax. After some shopping in Zante town you can take the small tourist train or drive up to Bohali castle, the Venetian fort where you have a bird’s eye view over Zante town and survey the harbour. No prizes for guessing why they put a fortress up here to keep an eye out for Turkish invaders.

We can recommend the typical Greek summer drink of Frappé – chilled milky coffee with froth on top. A delicious alternative is a Freddoccino – a chilled cappuccino which tasted as if it had some hazelnut syrup in it – delicious, and this is the premier spot on the island to sit and sip it.

The coffee may be expensive but on a sunny day it’s worth every penny for that view.
