Being hit by an object while traveling could be dangerous. Good thing you were not driving so fast so as to dint or damage your car.

Really pretty berries. Look sumptuous its unfortunate that it can’t be eaten. Very good for decoration though because of its shiny and bright red color.

You didn’t mention what happened to your windshield. I suppose everything was alright. Conkers and any other fruit or object falling onto cars could be detrimental, especially when one is speeding. It’s Newton’s law of motion at its worst. I smiled seeing sliced conkers and not broken windshields or dented hoods. Nice pictures by the way.

@ Aubrey Ann & Camille – Unfortunately Conkers are Horse chestnuts and not for eating, it’s the sweet chestnuts that we love to roast and eat in the winter

New word – Conkers. When I was playing scrabble with my aunt, she placed conkers. I was about to argue that it ain’t a word but I didn’t. Good thing I didn’t since it does really exists. I sure want to taste this!

Conkers – this is the first time I heard the word. They look like a nut. Can you eat conkers? Aside from being a nice center table piece, would it be great if you could roast and eat them.

Same here Dawn, I also love autumn. I remember the time when I purchased my first car – it was autumn then. Good thing I had no problem about conkers falling on the windscreen of my newly purchased car! Nice pictures, and you gave me a new idea on how to decorate my table too.

Autumn is my favourite time of year, everything looks so lovely. You certainly know its here when the conkers fall. Have so many good memories of being a child and spending hours collecting them, tying strings to them and having conker competitions…good old days!

We live right by a park, so I get a lot of acorns hitting my car each autumn. They leave dings in my car…and you can’t eat ‘em…so I’m not nearly as enthralled with them

I”ve never heard of these or seen them before! I don’t really know if we have them in the US. Are they like hedge apples?
