This post reminds me of the hot springs pool that I visit in Ouray, Colorado. Even the setting is similar. And, it’s the same experience with a mix of locals and visitors. I should visit Ecuador to properly compare .

I’ve been here and it does bring great memories. A kind of mountain escape in the midst of Ecuador with an excellent cycling trip via all kinds of waterfalls. The water baths are refilled every day which is quite a process.

I love these baths. Used to go to one in Puerto Rico when I lived there that was sort of a secret kept from the tourists. Loved mingling with the locals. Also found a great one in Bali, the Banjar Baths. Must put this one on my “to go” list.

I loved that Banos wasn’t just for international tourists, it’s definitely a town that is full of Ecuadorians on holidays. Great place.
