Handy for many of the more touristy places and probably cheaper! A very good selection of shops and eateries. If you are not used to narrow roads do NOT attempt going across country to places like Cardigan....B roads??? I don't think so 🤦🏼!!! Aberglasney.... unmissable, a must visit garden

The choice of places to eat were good with the owners giving us suggestions. The traffic signs could be confusing as they were in Welsh first then English, so you had to be very quick to read them. There's plenty of supermarkets but again be careful with the signage to get too them. GG's on the Gower is excellent for icecream. Infact the whole area is beautiful and we will extend our radius off exploitation next time we stay.

    This was perfect for me.

This was perfect for me. I enjoyed a mix of cycling and hiking as well as a visit to the nearby Dolaucothi Gold MIne, a National Trust property. Llandovery itself has plenty of places to eat. It's a 5 minute drive from Henllys, and parking after 6pm is free in the main Castle car park, which is convenient for the town centre.

Most Beautiful Town - so quaint with lots of little characterful independent shops, boutiques and lovely places to eat ; Cawdor (Best Sunday Dinner) Duff Nuts (Beautiful Cooked Breakfast and wow their doughnuts out of this world) Pitchfork & Provision(Amazing artisan bakery and cafe - wow wow ). Llandeilo is so easy to navigate and the parking so cheap - just over five pounds for the weekend and everyone very welcoming and friendly. Lots of lovely places nearby to visit - Dynfwr Castle/ Park /Newton House. Carreg Cennen Castle. Aberglasney Gardens just to name a few as well as further afield Llansteffan, Laugharne , Saundersfoot & Tenby.

    Quiet and peaceful.

Quiet and peaceful. Pleasant little town with convenience shops and places to eat. The walk along the water's edge is nice and the views across the estuary are lovely but there is very little interest on the water in terms of boats or wildlife. Pendine sands with a lovely sandy beach is nearby but the water is a long way out. We preferred many other parts of Wales.

    Huge dog-friendly beach!

Huge dog-friendly beach! There was always some sand to go for a walk, even when the tide was in - plus there’s a ‘promenade’ and lots of places a car-ride away. It’s an excellent place and base from which to explore Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Road links are good too. There’s an excellent Chinese restaurant ( Lotus) and St Clears has a few superb shops, Pethau Olyv ( clothes, gifts) is great for conversation, coffee/tea and a tea cake and there are the best fish and chips by the Factory Shop and Indian restaurant next door! Together with so many places to visit - what more could anyone want!?

We fell in love with Burry Port last year when we stayed to locate a future area to retire to, we had never heard of Burry Port before and instantly fell in love with it and the surrounding area, Pembrey Park is also nearby and is a must to visit. The coast path runs through Burry Port and is used by cyclists runners and walkers alike. Burry Port also has a train station which runs through to Bristol. Also Amelia Earhart landed in Burry Port harbour, first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Well worth a visit. We are now moving to retire nearby so Burry Port will be on our doorstep.
